Makcalable
For Windows 7 (not tried on vista or xp)Ok, this will guide you through the process of getting rid of all your old notification icons in the system tray, there are many many ways of doing this but this way is probably the easiest;Open Ccleaner then now look at the left hand side, scroll down nearly all the way to the botton and check 'Tray notification cache' and then click the big Run Cleaner button at the bottom right side of the windowOnce Ccleaner has finished cleaning open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Click on the Processes tab and you can either Right Click on explorer.exe and click End process or click on explorer.exe and hit the End process bottom right; see pic below; You will notice that the taskbar and the Start Button has Disapeared, Now under task manager, click File and click New Task(Run). In the box, type explorer.exe and press Enter.Everything will be back to normal and the notification icons are reset and the old icons are gone. Job Done!Hope you found this useful! ;)
Makcalable
Just to clarify on the above, when i mentioned not tried on vista/XP i did actually mean how efficient it is at cleaning up the old notifications in the system tray, but works a dream on win 7 :DShould have put "How To Delete Old Notification Icons From System Tray Using Ccleaner" as the title :( silly of me!
