wida
Hi allI had few trojans and I deleted all with bootable CD, this seems to have removed many things, I was left with one problem, safe mode stops at mup.sys so I can't access safe mode anymore, it reebots and go back to safe mode menu (not sure about name).(Safe mode used to stop at another file ??HIDmgr.sys but I fixed it (forgot how) so it must be the deletion process before caused all this)-------I just want one thing: How to know what file is preventing loading in safe mode (its all fine in normal mode) I read that usually the problem is in the file after mup.sys.I used the safe mode menu to enable logging and I didn't get the log file ntbootlog, searched for bootlog too. And settings to use dump file is on in windows, and I have no .dmo file or mini dump folder.I want to manually fix this issue, windows XP is 100% updated and I downloaded many drivers again so I dont want to redownload everything again or reset registry so I would need to install everything again.I hope I was clear enough to in explaining, I would appreciate your help guys... ? MANEMAN
Hi there, and Rather than explain all of the issues with .mup hanging, I will give you a link to a very good guide on the subject.Try some of the suggestions and come back and tell us you've fixed it. :) Go: * HERE * John.P.S. Do think about "Disk Imaging" your system. It will save you a lot of time in the future. ( http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp )Also backup your drivers ! ( http://www.boozet.org/dd.htm )They are both free, - So no excuses not to use them. ;)
