MANEMAN
Backup all personal data (Documents,Photos,Music, etc; etc.)Have a good look around and see what would break your heart to lose. :( Passwords ? Email addresses ? Just use a bit of commonsense, and take your time with a good strategy in place beforehand really.Be a good idea to do a "Disk Image" of your present Operating System also. Then at least you will still have your old OS to fall back on if things go wrong, or you are not satisfied with the upgrade. For disk imaging you can use a variety of software. Most commonly used on this forum is Acronis. If you are tight on cash try Macrium Free Edition.John.
Digerati
You should also run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make sure you hardware is ready for Win7 first.
trevowens20
Backup the files that matters to you. You can save this in a flash drive or another hard drive. We will never know what will happen during installation. Possible corrupts and file errors could happen.I upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7 and it is really nice. Very much appreciated, you should try it as well.
