dvdb726 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 At our work we have a pair of external hard drives that we have part of our network, we use them to keep our standards, customer standards, job formats, etc...in them.Because we also use flash drives to load and download information onto, the drive letters of the hard drives can change.With shortcuts being used on the desktop, links are always being broken with the shortcuts because the drive letters change depending upon how many flash drives are in the computer.Is there anyway to label the extenal hard drives letters with fixed letters like AA or WS1 and WS2 which is what we have the drives labeled as and not have them change? dvdb726 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 Perfect Perfect Perfect...Thank-You very muchI have another question for you that maybe you can help with too?We have new Windows 7 64 bit computers at work and I am networking them with our older XP 32 bit machines, I have no problem getting the network working or with file sharing to work, my issue comes in when 2 oer 3 people connect to the Windows 7 machine...the connection gets broken and you cannot reconnect.Did I configure the netwrok wrong someplace?Thanks again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
