software installation problem

Hi Bludgard,

i have successfully got the virtualbox VM working and running vista home premium and have installed the program which was causing my problems. i am extremely grateful to you and i really appreciate all the help you and everyone else has given me. thanks guys.....

there is a slight issue with virtualbox however after shuting down the VM and closing virtualbox i cannot reopen virtualbox unless i reboot the laptop and if i try to open virtualbox before i reboot the laptop wont shutdown properly and therefore wont start properly! weird! and also i tried to take a snapshot of the VM while running(maybe this is the issue) and i got some errors and as a result could not use the VM again and therefore had to reinstall it again. oh well.

Congratulations,ladysman217.You have dared to go where most wouldn't give a second thought.And have conquered.

As for the start/shutdown issues,make sure you turn off the VM the same as you would a regular machine.From the Start menu.Or whatever safe method you prefer.Do not just click the "X" on the top right corner,for this is akin to shutting down your machine by pressing the start button.There will eventually be errors.

I am truly glad you have your software installation issue resolved.(Although I do not feel this is the end of this thread....:P ).

If other issues arise,start a new thread on it and I'm sure someone will be around to assist.
