No sound from speakers

Need help with sound problem.

When playing mp3 (or whatever audio type) in winamp, media player, or youtube, I hear no sound.

In realtek audio consol selecting ”test”, I can hear sound from all speakers.

On sound master control in taskbar, it shows that sound is active (moving meter).

When using headset in front panel, I can hear the audio.

No devices have the yellow exclamation mark indication.

I have installed device drivers from the CD delivered with the motherboard. I also upgraded from Microsoft driver page. I downloaded drivers from Gigabyte. I downloaded drivers from Realtek. All with the same resluts. No sound from the speakers other than by selecting the test button on the audio console.

The audio worked fine in Windows XP, but I have no sound in the speakers after I installed Windows 7.

If I only had the product key for XP left I would re-install the XP instead.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

Sound: Realtek ALC888 (on motherboard)

Windows 7 Home Premium
