IE8 Zoom size keeps changing

My wife has just bought a new Dell 17" laptop. Windows 7; IE8. She's had a Dell laptop running XP before.

Anyway, the Zoom size in IE8 keeps changing. It is really annoying. I'm not sure whether it is some "feature" of IE8; or some other thing, like the trackpad trying to zoom for some reason.

Searching the internet reveals a fair number of people with the same problem; but not many solutions. I've tried changing Accessibility settings, but if anything have made things worse.

I'm a Mac guy, but am generally quite good with computers, but can't find any prefs or settings to fix this.

Any ideas?

PS. It's a brand new machine, and hasn't had anything extra installed.
