How to delete compress old files on external hdd

Do you want to delete all files or selected ones?

For all files the easiest way would be to reformat the drive.

For selected files try a RIGHT click and press delete on the dropdown which appears. For multiple selected files hold down the shift key whilst making the selection to highlight and then right click.
