oldschool67
I just installed Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX (SFU). I would like to utilize the Interix Remote Shell Daemon but I'm experiencing difficulties with the initial setup. I have removed the “#” from the beginning of the line "#shell stream tcp nowait NULL /usr/sbin/in.rshd in.rshd –a" in the inetd config. file. I have also forced inetd to re-read it's config file with the command "kill -1 $(ps –ef | grep /usr/sbin/inetd | grep –v grep | cut –c 14-17)". I have also written and placed .rhosts and hosts.equiv files into the home and /etc folders respectively. When I try to run RSH, I receive ">Server name : Connection Refused". The Daemon is installed on the "remote system". Please assist. Thank you in advance.I have also disabled firewalls.
