lost xp disc

Hi, george. Before we continue this witch hunt, lets try to recover your system to factory condition. This will eliminate locating and installing any chipset drivers that may be needed before, during or after a custom install.

To start the recovery, press the F10 key when you first turn on your computer. Tap F10 repeatedly until you see 'Starting System Recovery'. Or hold Ctrl and press F-11 key repeatedly at boot.

From there you can choose to do Format or a Non-destructive recovery.

If this fails, we will continue with the custom install.;)

Hi bludgard

if this works will i still be able to connect to the internet

If the recovery is successful, I do not see why not. If we have to custom install, there may arise the need to install network drivers along with some other drivers from your machines support site. Or we can use a driver backup tool such as Driver Magician to backup non-Windows drivers to an external medium for future use.
