Komposten Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 Hello! Recently I've experienced something that I believe is software/driver problems on my Windows 7 x64 PC.Every time I shutdown my computer, or put it to sleep, it simply crashes with a bluescreen and then restarts.I've started the computer in Safe Mode, and then it did not crash at all. Can someone help me with this error, please? Thanks in Advance / Komposten Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 In the absence of any details as to what specific blue screens you have had, can I suggest that you try this (free) tool BlueScreenView :-http://www.nirsoft.n...creen_view.html For each crash, it displays the minidump filename, the date/time of the crash, the basic crash information displayed in the blue screen (Bug Check Code and 4 parameters), and the details of the driver or module that possibly caused the crash (filename, product name, file description, and file version). Download link :- http://www.nirsoft.n...nview_setup.exe Report back to us on what you find out. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 To disable the automatic restarting :- Click on the Start button and then on Control Panel.Click on System and Security.Click on System. In the task pane on the left, click Advanced System Settings.Locate the Startup and Recovery section near the bottom of the window and click on Settings. In the Startup and Recovery window, find and uncheck the check box next to Automatically Restart.Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.Click OK in the System Properties window. You can now close the System window. That will allow you time to see the BSOD details when they next occur. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted September 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 So, I used that BlueScreen program you mentioned and here are some info from it. I sidescrolled to the "Caused by driver" section, and my 6 errorfiles said it was because of two different drivers and therefore I post info from two files, one for each driver: File 1: ==================================================Dump File : 092611-53804-01.dmpCrash Time : 2011-09-26 16:08:23Bug Check String : KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDBug Check Code : 0x0000001eParameter 1 : ffffffff`c0000005Parameter 2 : fffff800`031744eaParameter 3 : 00000000`00000000Parameter 4 : 00000000`0000004eCaused By Driver : fvevol.sysCaused By Address : fvevol.sys+1201File Description :Product Name :Company :File Version :Processor : x64Crash Address : ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40Stack Address 1 :Stack Address 2 :Stack Address 3 :Computer Name :Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\092611-53804-01.dmpProcessors Count : 4Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7601Dump File Size : 274 608================================================== File 2: ==================================================Dump File : 092611-20217-01.dmpCrash Time : 2011-09-26 11:05:05Bug Check String : KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDBug Check Code : 0x0000001eParameter 1 : ffffffff`c0000005Parameter 2 : fffff800`031614eaParameter 3 : 00000000`00000000Parameter 4 : 00000000`0000004eCaused By Driver : usbhub.sysCaused By Address : usbhub.sys+2353eFile Description :Product Name :Company :File Version :Processor : x64Crash Address : ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40Stack Address 1 :Stack Address 2 :Stack Address 3 :Computer Name :Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\092611-20217-01.dmpProcessors Count : 4Major Version : 15Minor Version : 7601Dump File Size : 274 608================================================== I hope it will help you / Komposten Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 Usbhub.sys is the Default Hub Driver for USB Fvevol.sys is to do with BitLocker Drive Encryption Both are standard Windows 7 files. I would run a system file check. To do that Open the Start Menu. Click on All Programs and Accessories, then right click on Command Prompt and click on Run as Administrator. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This process will scan the integrity of all Windows protected system files and repair them if needed. It may take some time to finish. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 what I would try in your situation is check if newer drivers are available. />http://drivermax.com/ is a very good tool for that; use the free version that allows up to two driver downloads per day. Komposten Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 Ok, I will try that then. And, by the way, that sfc-scan passed without finding any errors, and did not solve anything. But thanks anyway, Boris. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Boris Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 What is the make/exact model of your motherboard ? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted September 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 It is a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4, I would give you a link but all the text on the site is in Swedish... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 The drivers for that board (rev 2.0) are here :-http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3436#dl Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted September 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 28, 2011 Well, thanks again!Let's just hope that will do the trick... ! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 4, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 4, 2011 I must be really lazy, I still haven't all drivers installed... At least I got more than 75% of the motherboard up to date!It does still not work, though, but there are some drivers left... My driver versions Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted October 5, 2011 Report Share Posted October 5, 2011 You do not really need to update all the drivers; just the ones that cause you problems. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 5, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 5, 2011 I get that, it's just that I don't know what the drivers' real names are... (and then it is almost always good to have a up-to-date computer!)... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Makcalable Posted October 5, 2011 Report Share Posted October 5, 2011 KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED = http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/kernelmodeexceptionnothandled-0x1000008e/5bc2def6-083c-429d-8696-8423d1df3893 Do you use any virtualization programs on that machine? If so uninstall them because they are known to cause bluescreens occasionally. just a thought ;-) Also in the start menu search box type in MSCONFIG and under the general tab select "Diagnostic start up" and see if what you come up with. Also do the same under the start up tab, de select everything and then by trying out by selecting each one by one to see if problem persists. On another note I would suggest visiting your Manufacturer Website/Vendor for your latest Driver too. Make sure all windows updates have been downloaded and installed also. At what point did this issue start happening? Also may want to try; chkdskMemtest+86 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 6, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2011 That was a LONG answer... xDWhat kind of virtualization-program do you mean? I haven't got things like VirtualBox, but I got PowerISO (with its virtual drives). Most of the things in MsConfig StartUp-tab has been unchecked for months (I don't want crap to start when they don't need to...).I will try that thing with Diagnostic Start Up. I'm not really sure when it started happening, sorry, but I can't remember doing anything unusuall... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Makcalable Posted October 6, 2011 Report Share Posted October 6, 2011 Ok I would even consider following this quick guide here also for piece of mind http://fixitwizkid.com/threads/guide-do-you-think-you-have-malware-virus.144/ If that come back clear I would then Uninstall AV software and then just to run it for a short while whilst shutting down and restarting just to see if it is possibly your AV software causing issues, there have been cases of AVG, AVAST, NORTON, WEBROOT that can cause bluescreens in many circumstances. Anyway be worth a try ;-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 9, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 9, 2011 I'm currently using ESET Anti-Virus, but I don't think that is the problem since the bs remains even if ESET is turned off completely... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 Ok, all drivers except the one for my mouse are installed, and the crash remains... *sigh*...Any ideas, guys? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boris Posted October 13, 2011 Report Share Posted October 13, 2011 Also may want to try; chkdskMemtest+86 Did you try what Makcalable suggested above ? MemTest :- http://www.memtest86.com/ - free download by clicking on the "Download" link on the page above. Click "Technical info" for how to use it. Komposten Posted October 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 22, 2011 I ran the MemTest, and after it had completed the test for the eight time it still hadn't found any errors...ChkDsk didn't find anything wrong either... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Makcalable Posted October 28, 2011 Report Share Posted October 28, 2011 Well in that case I am going to say this is a hardware issue.... Have you replaced any hardware in your machine recently? Also check for an update for your BIOS also as sometimes this can cause issues and remove the CMOS battery to reset the bios. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Komposten Posted October 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2011 Well, I bought the whole computer (except fro graphics card) during this summer... xD.And it bloody has to be related to software, becuase the problem does not remain if I run in safe mode... Though I will try to update bios. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
