ethernet port

Recommended Posts

My earlier suggestion will allow connection of an Ethernet cable to your computer - which doesn't have such a connection.

What is the other (non-computer end) of the cable connected to?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.

What is it you want to connect to the computer via the Ethernet cable? Modem? Router? Printer?

Ethernet is only a means of data transfer although it tends to be used for telephony.

If you want to connect up a modem or router, this can often be done by USB without the need to Ethernet.

Having said all of that, you can get Ethernet PCI/PCIExpress cards to fit inside you machine to provide permanent Ethernet access. For example http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_12?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ethernet+pci&sprefix=ethernet+pci
