Video overlay removal..?

I don't think there is a way to do this - the whole point is to provide a non-erasable origin identifier. If there were a way then I'm sure that the inserter's of these irritants would soon find a new method of achieving the same thing.

What I have seen done is a "blanking box" covering the offending overlay which might change colour to match the background but it's not very effective - and very fiddly to carry out for us ordinary mortals.
