Login Scripts Not Working After Migration

Recommended Posts

I have attempted to migrate some user accounts from NT4.0 server to an AD Domain (WIndows 2003) this is within a test environment.

The problem(s) I have is that when these accounts have been migrated, we test these accounts from an NT workstation client.

After migrating these accounts using ADMT 2.0, the a/c's, groups and permissions are copied across.

But after refering to the ADMT log, we find that the migration failed to copy the password for {user}. And that a strong password has been generated instead. The RPC server is unavailable.

MS says that that error above typically indicates a failure to resolve names, and to verify that DNS Netbios (WINS) name resolution is working correctly for both domains.

As fas as I'm aware they are, Also does anyone out there no if when migrating user accounts with login scripts, do we need to copy these login scripts to the AD server.

The problems I have found is that there is so much conflicting information out, you never know what you have missed out.

Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou in advance if anyone can save me from Windows 2003.

Thanks
