Not genuine copy of windows

Recommended Posts

Yes it would seem that a Microsoft update ( KB971033 ) causes this message to appear intermittently on some operating systems even though they are genuinely purchased.

I have had it happen only once. For me it was just a reboot, and it has never appeared again.

Uninstalling the update and rebooting should solve the problem on a "genuine" copy of Windows 7.

Once cured do make sure that you do not install the update again of course.

Similar to what Pat has just posted, you can read more here:

Sorry it has taken so long, but I tried to do what you said John, and that didnt work, I rebooted, that didnt work, so I uninstalled Microsoft Update KB971033 and rebooted again, and that still didnt work.

I got my copy from an online school my siblings go to, and this is one of the computers that was sent, Pat.
