Lauris
Hi everybody! During one installation I disabled my AVG antivirus, since I thought that the alerts were false positives, but I turned out to be wrong and infected my computer (Windows 7). Afterwards I did a full scan, rebooted the computer, did another full scan and haven't seen any virus alerts since. But something happened to Windows Installer - I always get this error: The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. I see that the service is started, I've tried fixing it's registry, reregistering and whatnot, nothing seems to have helped. Do you think that the virus can still be there, just no detected by AVG, or is it something it did and then got cleaned, but the Installer is still corrupt? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Lauris
Hey, just fixed it myself! I used sfc /scannow, after two scans and two reboots it's working again! :)
