UKAspie
I have an XP-64 system that keeps blue-screening.I can't read the minidumps with dumpchk or windbg. Is this because they are 32 bit programs? If so, are there 64 bit versions available? The Microsoft advice to roll back a software change isn't much use - how many Windows Updates should I roll back? UKAspie
p.s. I have Visual Studio - that might be a better option if I knew how to crack a dump in it. Or alternatively I have some experience with windbg.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
There shouldn't be a problem reading dumps on a 64-bit system. What exactly means "can't"?

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Where is your Windbg.exe actually located?I find mine at C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows (x64) - so it's a 64-bit application.Unfortunately I do not have any minidumps on my system, so I can't test it.Can you zip up your minidump and attach it to your next post? UKAspie
Thanks for your reply. That's where my copy of windbg is too. I've attached a zip - I think ...Mini122812-01.zip
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Sorry for not replying; I have been a bit more busy than usual.I will try to take a look at your dump today.
UKAspie
I have dmpchk and windbg. I also have Visual Studio 2008.If any of these can be used to analyse the dumps I would be happy to do the work myself.Alternatively if the dump I submitted really is unreadable I would appreciate any suggestions for getting a readable one.
