Guest Cookie Posted January 24, 2003 Report Share Posted January 24, 2003 Madboy, while you're still deciding, I'd recommend you start by choosing the motherboard.When you've chosen one with 'zillions' of slots, check which CPU will fit and which memory.Have a look at the Asus site and a few others.I always remember when I got my first PC, I planned to go for a fast CPU and lower memory but was told 'What's the point of having an E type Jag with a one gallon petrol tank'.Basically if you are on a budget it would be better to have say a 1.7Gig with 512 meg memory than a 2.1 with 256 memory. If you've chosen a board which will take a higher memory you can always upgrade the CPU at a later date. Check the prices to see the difference. I would choose my processor first then the motherboard....as good as I could afford and then all the other bits from there.
