thetodaisies
Hello, I am using windows 7 32 bit in my HP Compaq laptop.recently because of some virus i think i deleted some files from system32. Now i am not able to use my external USB modem the error i am getting is modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly. I tried the solutions provided in many sites, but none of them worked. So i was wondering if i deleted some modem related files from system32. Is there a way to check and restore the files required. I have no restore points set. so system restore is not an option. Also i dont want to format the machine. Any help is really appreciated Thanks
Alan2273
If you go to this site and download the required ISO, burn it to a DVD, then boot your laptop from the DVD and do a repair install which will leave your files and folders intact.http://www.w7forums.com/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads-t12325.html http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html
