dwindle
Just reinstalled Win 7 home premium. Fully updated. All three bluetooth devices have the same problem "The driver for the Bluetooth Pheripheral Device is not installed"The "fix" never works for any device, and none of the devices seem to have a solution from their manufacturer. I'm guessing this is actually a windows problem. -pops-
Have you installed the drivers pertaining to the motherboard of the machine?
dwindle
Not specifically. The bluetooth is a Targus USB dongle, the machine doesn't have built in BTTargus doesn't have a Win7 driver, but all of these things worked before I reinstalled. Toshiba support is horrible. Several of the driver applications I've tried, litterally did nothing (the installation never seems to start). http://support.toshiba.com/support/driversResults?freeText=2761036 Is there anything there that looks motherboard? -pops-
Is this any help? It refers to a specific Targus model but the information may well apply to yours. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/is-a-usb-bluetooth-adapter-acb10-adaptable-to/8de11621-985d-4b25-94f2-61363e469a90?msgId=9ec70a47-8dc9-47d2-b737-5eb7dfb53f6d
dwindle
Tried that, but Windows still says it can't find the driver. Is it looking to drive the Dongle or is it trying to connect to the device? When I first connected the dongle, it claimed to have installed correctly. It always finds the bluetooth device, but that errror message persists. -pops-
Have you tried compatibility mode as suggested in my link? These dongles are very low cost, how about a new up to date one?
dwindle
Actually, it did work for the stereo reciever and the iphone, but the same issue persists for the headset. Change that, after twice removing then adding the device, it found the drivers and works. Thanks!Have you tried compatibility mode as suggested in my link? These dongles are very low cost, how about a new up to date one?Annoyingly, I only bought it a month ago at Staples, the only one they had. I had no idea the thing dated back to 2004.
