QuickshotCheesy
Hello :) I have early this year started using a computer home built by me and my father and we had installed windows 8 professional. All was fine :)though later after using it for a longer period of time i noticed that the UBS's would randomly disconnect and reconnect bringing up all the messages about what to do with the device and so on, but the biggest problem with this is that my internet is connected through USB and is annoying when it randomly disconnects for a few seconds. I have put up with it until now but have decided to finally try and find an answer if anyone could help that would be great :) thanks. -pops-
You state that this happens after a long period of use so, the first thing that comes to mind is the temperatures in the system together, possibly, with dry joints/poor contact of the usb. You might check the internal temperatures with something like Speccy (http://www.piriform.com/speccy) or (more comprehensive) CPUID HW Monitor (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html). If it is running hot, check the fan layouts in the case - you should be drawing air in low down at the front and exhaust high in the case at the back. Don't rely on the fan in the power supply unit - its fan is there to keep itself cool, not the computer. There should be an air flow through the whole machine and not, as I have sometimes seen, the fans merely circulating the same air within the case. Another consideration is not to operate the machine for more that a short time with any part of the case removed. This can severely affect correct airflow. Assuming this is a desktop machine, you could possibly install a PCI card with new USB ports. This could help by being physically distant from the heat sources in the computer case but do check airflows and temperatures first.
QuickshotCheesy
I have not tried your suggested apps yet but i did have one for cpu temperature and that usually reads about 30 is that ok? I also have one for graphics card temp and that usually reads about 20 or so. Are these temps ok? We did try making sure we had a good airflow. -pops-
The temperatures you quote seem very low. How are you measuring them? Are you checking when the machine is misbehaving?
