achilles007
I'm on campus dorm. Windows 7. Laptop hp Pavilion m6-1045dxWireless works fairly okay with a weak signal in my bedroom. I've tried updating the driver both through windows and through the manufacturer's site and I have the latest updated version despite both tries. Ethernet cable Cat-5e, tried this and a Cat-6 and neither worked

achilles007
When I first took the screenshot I could have sworn I did it with the ethernet plugged in. But nevertheless I went back to do it a second time making sure it was plugged in and got the exact same. Curious enough-- I even unplugged the ethernet and made another ipconfig/all prompt and got the exact same as I did with the ethernet plugged in!This was the last little bit of it that I seem to have forgotten though: the same is also with the device manager, with the ethernet plugged in or not it gives me the exact same reading....:
-pops-
How well do other user's systems behave in your dorm? Does your machine behave when used elsewhere (Ethernet and/or wireless)?
