Microphone & Headphone jacks clashing.

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I've been having a small issue with my PC at the moment,

I am unable to use the same front panel ports on my Dell Inspiron 530.

I have been trying to use my headset microphone (one headspeaker is damaged) and

my iPhone headphones, so I can use the microphone and the headphones at the same time.

However, each time I do this I seem to get an error, I get notified with a red cross mark on my speaker icon (bottom right on taskbar.)

I am currently using my headphones on the front panel and my microphone jack at the back panel, but the microphone is just making a static noise, but when it's in the front panel it works perfectly and crystal clear.

OS: Win7 64bit

PC: Dell Inspiron 530 (It's very old)

All help is appreciated.
