Greetings fine folks,

Hope i can communicate this since my computer knowledge is limited.

I wanted to disable DCOM...after reading about it, i went ahead with it.

I accomplished this task easily enough but while i was in the Component Services,

i noticed alot of 'Users' names. Some that i didnt recognize. Some were strange names like ULcmanonymous user..(something like that)

So i deleted the ones i thought for sure were not right. Still no problem.

But then there were other User names, that i was not sure about, so i restricted their usage or rights to the computer.

But now, when i go to component services and console root to right click on my computer, like i did earlier (above) it does nothing. Its almost like the file that was 'my computer' is gone. I also seemed to have lost Windows Manager Console, i think.

When i click on .Net framework in administration tools an error comes up saying error signature mmc.exe etc..caused problem.

ALSO, (im sorry)...'properties' dosent work anymore. I right click go down to properties and click it and nothing.

Computer still works fine and i can get on internet etc..but i cant manage my computer!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rick

Restore from your system backup? Don't tell me, you don't have one. Tut tut!!!!

Restore using System Restore?

Always, always, always have an up-to-date full system backup for your computer - especially when you delve into the inner workings.
