Can't Preview Pictures. Please Help.

This is a photo of my grandma's computer which works fine and is how it should be:

This is a photo of my computer and I see them unless I actually open them with a program:

It has been like this ever since we got the laptops a year or 2 exactly today which are the exact same thing but mine does this, how can I fix it.

Also another thing with the 'F' keys I somehow turned the functions around. For example my F10 key use to turn my volume up but now I have to hold the FN and F10 to turn it up and I don't know what I did to change it.

I have a Windows 8 Toshiba Satellite.

For your pictures problem, open my pictures folder, on the top line click View, then on the end of the ribbon click Options, in the box that comes up click View, then click Reset Folders the click apply and OK, then reboot your laptop.

For your FN key problem, bring up the charms bar, select search, then type system settings, in System Settings their will be an option to alter the FN function.

Well both sound like they would solve the problem but neither one worked. Any other suggestions? I even tried restoring the settings to default for the function problem.

I cannot suggest any other solution to your pictures problem, but try this for the FN function.



1. Click the START Button.

2. Type in “HWSetup”, (without the inverted commas), into the search box then select the HWSetup option in the list.



3. In the new HWSetup window, select the KEYBOARD tab.

4. Then change the selection in “Function Keys mode” to Standard F1 – F12 mode.



5. Click OK.

6. It will then prompt you that changes will occur when you reboot the notebook, you can select YES to reboot now or No to reboot at a later time.
