jaymak11 Posted February 8, 2014 Report Share Posted February 8, 2014 Working on Dell Vostro Win7. Vostro 13" screen laptop has no dvd-cd drive so I bought a Dell external drive. It worked well for a year and now doesn't do anything. It doesn't show anywhere and if I put a disc in it it simply does nothing. Won't spin or make any sounds. -pops- Posted February 8, 2014 Report Share Posted February 8, 2014 Assuming this is a USB connected device, do other pieces of hardware operate when plugged into the same socket? Does the DVD player function if plugged into another computer? Is the power supply unit (PSU) to the DVD player operating correctly (are the indicator lights, disk tray etc. functioning)?
