leejayd
HI I have a PC (Win8) on the wired network with an ubuntu VM (VMWARE) set-up via NAT networking. I'm looking to access the VM (Apache server) from another pc (laptop) on the network. I've already set the VM adapter to port forward : VM-IP:80 : HOST-IP:8080 This allows me to access the VM from the HOST machine via : HOST-IP:8080. All good so far. Having done this I expected to be able to access the VM from another machine on the network (Win8 laptop over wifi) using HOST-IP:8080 It fails to connect. I've tried disabling antivius/firewall. My router's NAT firewall is turned off. I can connect the laptop to the host using windows but I can't get VM from the laptop. Any ideas? leejayd
It's okay. I sorted it. I thought I disabled firewall but windows pesky firewall was still open and blocking the port. I was allowed the port through it works a treat.
