A stand alone hard disk recorder that could record sky or the now defunct on digital. It had certain characteristics that dvd ram recorders have now. There is one going reasonably cheap and I am thinking of doing some modifications to it.they still have a web siteHas anyone any experience of this machine. Does anyone know what is involved to upgrade the hard disk on the tivo to a reasonable size, and has anyone any experience of a device that fits into the tivo to allow direct connection to a pc. This would be a uk spec one with, more than likely, the ability to add a further 120 gig hard drive. This would involved getting the turbo net drivers and the software to upgrade it. The price for that unit is £100.We have since been offered a tivo with a 40gig and a 120gig ( in a caddy). With all the drivers installed, including the turbo net." The turbonet card allows you to transfer videos to a PC via a network cable and it also allows you to use your internet connection to make listing updates instead of the phone line. You can also use the the PC to set up recordings and things. It is a very useful little card. If only used for transfering videos to the PC"All driver disks and the machine still having 3 years of the 5 year warranty left. This would set us back £160.With the above setup I think I would be able to network it with the P.C.With you excellent links, it would seem that other possibilites are there to be experimented with. :D I have saved them to my fav's and shall have a good browse.
