Hi,everyone, my win10 System itself causing 100% Disk Usage on PC, how can i fix it?

Hello it1776,

You must follow the below fixes to resolve Windows 10 100% disk usage problem,

  1. Disable SuperFetch
  2. Update your device drivers
  3. Perform a disk check

By disabling the SuperFetch service:

  • You should press the Windows logo key and type the command prompt
  • Open command prompt with Administrator rights
  • Then, click on Yes at the User Account Control prompt
  • Lastly, type in the below command:
  • net.exe stop superfetch
  • net.exe stop sysmain
  • Then hit Enter
  • Now, check your computer's disk usage to see if the disk usage is normal or not.

By Updating your device drivers:

Device drivers may also cause the above issue. You can automatically update all of your device drivers to the latest accurate version with Driver Easy. It will automatically recognize your system drivers and find their valid drivers.

  • Download and install Driver Easy.
  • Now, run Driver Easy and click Scan Now button to scan your computer and detect problems with drivers.
  • Click on the Update button beside any flagged device to automatically download and install the driver's latest correct version.

If the 100% disk usage problem persists, you can try the below method,

By performing a disk check:

  • You will have to press the Windows key and and then open a command prompt
  • Open command prompt with Administrator rights
  • Then, click on Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
  • Lastly, type in the below command:
  • chkdsk.exe /f /r
  • Then hit Enter and type Y
  • In order to confirm that you'd like to perform the disk check at the next time, you restart your PC.
  • Once the disk check is completed, recheck your computer's disk usage.

Thus, the above fix will resolve the disk usage issue.

By Disabling Windows Update feature:

  • Press Windows key + R
  • Type services.msc and Hit Enter.
  • Scroll down to Windows Update
  • Select it, then right-click it
  • Now, Click on the Properties
  • Under the General tab, choose Startup type to Disabled and Click Stop
  • Click Apply, then OK

In the above case, you will need to turn off Windows Search, as this feature may be causing the issue. To disable Windows Search, go into the command with admin access, and type in the below command:

  • net stop "Windows Search

Now, hit enter. Once it prompts that the service has stopped successfully, check if the disk usage has gone down.

I hope the above fixes help you in resolving the disk usage issue.
