Guest northamuk
Having just acquired the Sky+ system (the one with built in Hard Drive for recording programmes) I'm now wondering if it can be used to transfer recorded material to a stand alone DVD recorder. It will transfer to a VCR but this is obviously an analogue signal.Anyone got any info?

Tony
HiJust out of interest, what is involed in the standard instalation to warrent a cost of 50 quid?Do they just come round and plug it in?Cos they also offer a second digibox (normal one) for 99 quid + 50 quid standard instalation.Tony
Guest northamuk
Tony, Standard installation involves changing the LNB for a Quad LNB, two connections are required for the Sky+ box one other if you relocate the old box and one is spare. Not really a big job 'cos the dish is already there !
Tony
Cheers for info.I will have to see about getting it, but i can't have them come out and instal it ;) Tony
Guest northamuk
Tony, if you are any good at DIY you should be able to fit a Quad LNB, BUT you will have a problem getting Sky to enable the recording facility - the box has to be connected to a phone line.>Apparently all things are possible - check out Grim Reaper's link!<
Tony
CheersI will check out the link. It is the phone line that is always the problem, it took us all while over here to beat that little problem for the normal digi service ;)The installing of the stuff should not be a problem for me, if it is just a matter of replacing the LNB, and connecting it all up.Tony
