Windows 2000 Professional User Profile

Recommended Posts

I'm setting up a new profile on our network for temporary staff, they will log in with the username temp.

I only want them to have access to one program so ideally I would like to remove all options from the start menu (other than shut down) and remove all shortcuts from the desktop just for this profile.

As i'm kind of new to this i'm unsure of the best way to go about it. There are a large number of machines which these 'temps' will use so i'm really looking for the simplest way to do this without having to change too much on each machine (If this is something i can set up on the server without having to go to each machine this would be ideal)

Any help will be much appreciated.

From active directory right click the OU you have created and select properties. You should see everyone and specific users (names along them lines) choose edit and from admin tools specify what the user can use. Are you using redirection and are the programs coming from the server or local?

Note: Edit top right ;)
