That's OK for enlargements up to around 5"x7 " but beyond that your pictures will begin to appear fuzzy. You should not buy a camera that doesn't have optical zoom. Digital zoom does not offer anything that you can't do inside your computer software. Most lower-priced cameras offer optical plus digital zoom.A typical example would be the HP 635, 2.1 Megapixels, optical plus digital zoom and quite sturdy enough to drop on the beach without damage. You should handle a few cameras in the shops and make sure that you like the feel of them. Once you've found a few that you like you can surf around and find internet prices as low as half what you would pay on the High Street. Do NOT buy a camera online without handling it first. Well also look at the HP's.Well see if can find one locally and give it the hands on treatment like was suggested. So rather then wait until Xmas my wife went ahead and got it for me. Price of Memory cards isn't to bad either. She made me go with her which was a good idea as like was said you have to handle the cameras. Friend that I used to work with is boss of the Photo Lab so he gave us some good ideas as to what there best seller was. If I don't like it can bring it back and get something else. Tankus Posted December 29, 2003 Report Share Posted December 29, 2003 Ive just got one of these Casio r 40 for £169 at Dixons/Currys (4 mbpix)My old trusty Fuji's geting long in the tooth (4 yrs old) plus it will not take MMcards over 32mb , (Its less than 1 mbpix)Reason why I got the Casio was its small size , price , and it uses the same cards as my phone , double use for my memory .....I'll post some "arty" pics of central London after the New year when work calms down and I can get some R'n'R ......
