peter e
First I've heard of this. Yes, I use my floppy drive quite a lot for transferring files to and from work. Instead, I sometimes e-mail files as attachments but I find it more convenient to save them on disk. I wonder if other makers are following Dell's example. Still, I suppose it will be quite a while before floppies disappear totally. Incidentally, I've still got some old 5.25" low density floppies for my BBC B+ in the attic. I expect there are still quite a few knocking about.
madboy33
well, its an end of an era But you have to remember that most files are starting to become bigger than 1.44mb and you cant save them to floppyi do a lot of word documents that have photos on them nowadays and they just would not fit on floppy isnt that what a Zip drive is for?.............lol................madboy33
Sir Radfordin
Problem is that for most people you go to use a floppy disk when nothing else is suitable and it becomes critical - how often have you used one to get a system up and running, sort out a virus, crack (?) a password etc.
