RAR offers significantly improved compression ratios, easier use and a cheaper price as well as supporting long file names, disk spanning, and self-extracting file creation. It supports not only ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB but has it's own compression system .7z which is superb and has an AES-256 encryption...basically very strong :) http://www.7-zip.org/7z.html to read about the .7z file format. Saves one of them getting lost or running away from the others. And there are still a lot of people out there who don't and never will have BB.
