Guest Shirley_Crabtree
I have the exact same problem :(If I click on this http://www.shirleycrabtree.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/anim4.swfit works fine but if I click on the self same file sitting in My Documents no joy.If I go on the web to find the program that will open it,it is obviously recognised as a shockwave flash file...so why won't windows see it like that.I can't see Shockwave anywhere on my system, however it is in add/remove software list.I removed it,went to shockwave to install it again, and the procedure took all of half a second.(It should take a few minutes.)Actually between all this messing around I really ought to be restarting windows  I'm off to play again :(Edit. I found it in C:\WINDOWS\System32\macromed but there's nothing really there :(Shirl.

If so, check that the Flash Killer is not operating (SWB -> Tools -> Flash Killer)
