serial ata

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I'm getting the asus A7N8X-E, the board supports serial ata and i've also purchased an ata drive. How does the ata drive configure with my dma harddrives, can my ide drives act as slaves to the ata or vise vera?

Also I can't seem to find memory for the board it's not listed under crucials memory finder any ideas?

Thanks

Okay,

I've had a serial ATA drive for 5 days now, and as far as i am aware, their is no master or slave options!

SATA only allows one disk per channel, and i have four channels which is good.

You can setup the BIOS to tell it which disk to boot from though.
