Andy-2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 At the moment i am very annoyed with BT ....During online games my internt cuts off!!i have e-mailed Bt nicly asking them what the problem might be....this was two days ago and i havent yet got a reply....The internet cuts about every 10 min-or maby a little more if im lucky...I am very annoyed at the moment because i was told at the time of purchase that BT BB would be suitable for online gaming and if BT cannot fix this problem well i may be looking for another isp very soon...!so if you have any ideas on how this problem may be fixed or indeed any really good value isp's (just in case) dont hesitatle to tell me!Andy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
djohn Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 Try a right click on your "My Computer" Icon and select properties/Hardware tab/Device manager. Scroll down to Universal serial bus controllers and click the + sign to expand.Right click on "USB Root Hub" then properties again and click on the "Power management tab" Remove the tick from the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" Do this for each of the Root hubs that are showing.Also check how your modem is connected to the PC. Is it directly to the motherboard or is it via a PCI card or Hub. The best connection will be direct to the motherboard but if using a hub, use a powered one. If there are any other peripheral Items connected to the PC by a USB connection, disconnect them for a while and see if this cures the problem. djohn Posted February 27, 2004 Report Share Posted February 27, 2004 Hi Andy-2004. I realise it's a USB modem and these usually require the full 500 Milli-amps to keep them on-line. Andy-2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Author Report Share Posted February 28, 2004 ok its not workingthe internet game last night was fine but today i was playing and then it cut out and when i got back to my desktop i got a BSODit said windows has had to be shut down because of a new hardware faliur of somthingat this time a was using the usb thing in the back of my pc to suport my usb hub, printer, and my joystickmeanwhile i had the modem and a digatal camera wire in the usb hubi have disabled all those allow this computer to turn of this device thingiesi now have my modem running of the main usb thing in the back of my computerMy usb hub comes up in device manager as unknowen device and in properties it states there is no drivers installed for this device :o :o :o :censored: :censored: :censored: :( :( :( :angry: :angry: :angry: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
