For some mysterious reason, my PC (running Windows 7) has started scheduling a disk check every time a start up. This is obviously annoying as it takes time and is unnecessary. I have to watch out each time for the 'press any key' message to put a stop to it. On the advice of our friendly computer nerd, I've gone through the procedure: Right mouse click on C drive. Select Properties. Select Tools. Click on check now for error checking. Tick both boxes offered. Click OK. Reboot. The PC, of course, then goes through whole shebang of full disk checking (takes a couple of hours; meanwhile the PC is out of use). This seems to work for a couple of start ups but then occurs again. Driving me crackers ! What do I do to stop this happening ?
