Guest Flow
Hi there!I'm using Windows2000 with dual monitors.Since some games I play go silly if I startthem with both monitors activated, I have toodeactivate the secondary monitor before playing thosegames, and reactivate it afterwards. The normal way is to go into the display properties andperform the change. The question is:Is there a way to make a link to some dll with someparameters (I know there are such links to e.g. restartthe computer) wich (de)activates the secondarymonitor? Thanks in advance,-- Flowhttp://www.handyboard.net
Scarthy © ® ™
Hi Flow and welcome to the forums....What graphic card do you use? Or are you on onboard?I have an ATI card and the only method I know is to go into the Control Panel and do it from there... ;)
Guest Flow
Hi!I'm using a Geforce 4 MX onboard and a Number Nine Revolution 3D PCI.However, I don't think that onboard or not would makeany difference.Since windows can do it itself, there has to be a possibility, either by using such a link, orby some VB or C code via the WinAPI.Thanks anyway,Flow
Guest ellas
never used a dual monitor setup so all I can offer is a link to a site which may help you http://www.windows-help.net/features/dualmonitors.html
Agent Smith
Hello Flow, just a quick thought, but can you describe exactly what you mean when you say some games go silly? I am wondering if the error is actually being caused by the games using a startup command (or shortcut parameter) telling them to start in "full screen". If at all possible could you let us know which games are causing the problem, and if you are able can you set any switches (or parameters) in their shortcuts to start them in a "window". I would be interested to see what occurs if you do this.Look forward to your replies. Regards, Mr. Mouse.
