andsome
For the last day or two a small red dot has been visible in the top right hand corner of our TV screen, but only on Chanel four. We use NTL cable with a digital box. In no way does it spoil the enjoyment, it just makes me curious. Any ideas as to why it has appeared? Any experts out there? expertec
Press the red button on your digital remote and see what happens
Sir Radfordin
Chanel four show something worth watching?? Surely not ;)The red dot indicates that there is an "interactive" offering - you should get the same on the BBC channels during certain progs. though it often says "press red". Perhaps NTL have only just started offering this? Telewest has had it for a long time. The red dot annoys me but I've found two ways of getting rid of it. The first is to press the red button on the remote and then (using Telewest) when it pops up saying press the blue button to cancel do that. The other is to simply press the blue button and it gets rid of the red dot - well for a bit anyway. If you change channel is comes back.Don't know if that trick works on NTL but it does on Telewest. andsome
Press the red button on your digital remote and see what happens :rolleyes:I get offered a choice of two games to play. If I press TV to return to the full picture, the red dot reapers.

andsome
Can't shift it for more than a few seconds on NTL cable. It does not seem worth hanging about on the phone for half an hour to solve this. I was just curious.
andsome
Decided after all to phone NTL. Surprise surprise, got an answer in a couple of minutes. The red dot does signify interactive content on that channel. They tinkered about with my settings at their end to put things right.
