Guest spook
Grisoft Tech SupportDon't know how much use that will be, but this is an odd issue. You have it installed, but should you connect to the internet your system suffers a fatal crash, 'screen freezing'?Can't offer help myself, but like Mark, I think you'd do better giving more detail to the problem, including details of your operating system and what else 'internet and security related', you have installed. What internet program are you using for instance, IE5, 6, Opera7, Netscape 6 etc? There are known issues (it seems) with Opera internet browsing software (have a butchers at the last link). Some problems aren't worth persisting with, in my opinion, that is if there are other programs freely or easily available that do the same thing. Maybe you could try something else? They recommend Gladiator AV. Google will throw up others also. Google results for Grisoft AVG Freezing

mark2
One thought , install AVG but disable resident shield before connecting to the net, if you can then it does point to AVG, once connected then reenable AVG resident shield see what then happens. ??Maybe try an online virus scan at Housecall before installing in case there is a virus or trojan on your system already ?
