mik60ish
I tried to back up some files to CD but they were to large so I decided not to bother. So every time I log on I get = You have files waiting to be written to the CD, to see the files click this balloon. I have deleted all the files except 2 exe files which it will not let me delete. So how to I stop this appearing in my taskbar every time I turn on my PC, I have been to msconfig, but can't see anything there ??? Sir Radfordin
Normally when you open up the folder by clicking on the balloon there is a menu in the left hand column that has "delete tempoary files" as one of the options. You can also get to this by going to My Computer and then your CDRW drive.

Scarecrow Man
When you use XP's built in CD burner, it sends the files to a temp folder. You can then burn the files from there, but if something goes arye, you keep seeing thier waiting. To remove them manually, you have to go to the folder, not the CD drive. (unless you do what Sir Radfordin said)The location is usually....C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD BurningReplace the word USER with the actual User's Log In Name, and the C: with the drive on which windows is installed. Thus, each person with a log in on your computer has their own Temporary Directory, for burning CD's.
