They are happy doing it but only after you have enabled plain text passwords with a registry edit for connecting through Samba.looks like it could be a fun day at work tomorrow!? And it's only work with Windows NT Family (NT/2000/XP/2003).But, we still can connect Linux Box to Windows Box using SAMBA ( as Mr. M told us before). It uses for file and resource sharing. If you're wanting to use a Linux box as a member server in the NT domain, you simply need to enter smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r DOMAINPDC and restart the Samba daemon. Using Samba as a PDC is possible, with lots of docs out there. Although Windows XP does require a reg hack to login.Using a Linux box as a workstation, or client, in a domain can also be done using Samba and a product called Winbind which syncs the list of domain users to the local Linux userlist.It's all doable, just a matter of how much persistance you have.
