catgate Posted July 19, 2004 Report Share Posted July 19, 2004 I would like to apologise to Grump for creating, within him, the impression that I was in some way connected with trying to hijack his topic The Tories. My original contributions were, in my opinion, cogent to the matter under discussion. However, ansome came back with "I don't honesty think that you have thought this idea through thoroughly." in response to one of them. Whereupon I felt it only proper to point him to the URL that contained proof of the thought that had gone into my comment. His response was to come back in a greater state of negativity and continue to decry the matter, now making claims of having read things that did not exist. I felt it only right to try to correct the situation because of the inaccuracies he was purveying. I PMed him, suggesting he got his facts right, and questioned if the open forum was the place to continue discussing "the matter of your comments about the content of my "real democracy" site". Whereupon he replied, "Please feel free to reply in open forum"... ..."By all means let us have debates in open forum, but you cannot impose your views on other people and compel... etc etc". So I responded openly on the forum.In view of this I find ansome's support of your enquiry about closing down the topic more than a little odd.However, not withstanding all this, please accept my apology.
