Hi.

I'm trying to use the rsync pack for windows (cwrsync) ... and i need help :(

I have two computers under XP (sp1) and a 100Mbits connexion.

One of them is the server, the other one is the client.

I use cwRSync to backup data (with incremental).

That's ok. The data are transmitted correctly...

But,

I cannot delete data from the server ! (and it's the same i try with an administrator or a user account)

I try to use cacls command but "acces denied" it's the only response i get. :)

I can list directory when i put CYGWIN=nontsec (from the client) but not delete it.

The rsync service is running under a local administrator account.

My rsync.conf :

use chroot = false
strict modes = false
hosts allow = *
log file = rsyncd.log
pid file = rsyncd.pid

[localhost]
path = /cygdrive/c/dossiers sauvegardes
read only = false
list = false
transfer logging = yes
dont compress = *.zip *.rar *.tar *.gz *.z

And from the client the command is

rsync -auvz --backup --backupdir=DIRECTORY  folderToSend server::label

(label is localhost here of course...)

Do i forget something important ... ? :unsure:

i wander of forum in forum looking for a solution but i do not see anything .. so i post...

Finally, please forgive my poor english, i'm french ... :blushing:

Regards.

Well ...

I make a local account for the rsync service ... and now it's ok.

I have no more permission problems.

It's surely not the best solution but it's one working...

For cacls it was cause i use the command on a login i was connected with ! no comments ... :rolleyes:

Hope it will help one day.
