The Mozilla Foundation announced that it has launced a new Security Bug Bounty Program where it will pay $500 to anyone who discovers what the foundation considers to be a critical security bug in their software. Mitchell Baker, President of the Mozilla Foundation, said "this program reflects our commitment to protecting consumers from malicious actors ... The Security Bug Bounty Program will help us unearth security issues earlier, allowing our supporters to provide us with a head start on correcting vulnerabilities before they are exploited by malicious hackers."
