thegooch49
Hi gang, a friend inherited a laptop recently, running Win98SE. When the machine starts up, it always automatically launches RealPlayer. Any idea how to disable this? I checked the preferences for the app, and didn't see anything related to this.Is there a general way to disable apps that auto-startup?Thanks,Jeff

thegooch49
Thanks for the reply. It looks like there are a few versions of Real installed. The shortcut on the desktop took me to v8, where I disabled the start center. Version 4.01 is the one that launches automatically, and I looked for a similar preference to the one described above, and I didn't see one. Thanks again for the help. Northamuk
Can't you just delete in the Start Up list. Click Start>Run> type in msconfig> click on Start up> untick what you don't want.
