Recycle Bin not working

When you have copied the I386 folder from the restore disc to a blank cd, put the disc in the drive and click on start, run and type in sfc /scannow. (note the space between sfc and / )

It should then check and replace any corrupt files if necessary.

Don't delete the original folder in windows.

I've just done it myself to check that it works and it does

Scarecrow, I thought this way might be easier for Joysness than editing the registry

In Spikeys' link he says you can burn the folder to a cd instead

Hi joysness

I've had a look around and there are a few problems the same as yours and the kellys corner fix has worked for them.

You could try (in the bin properties) putting the tick into "remove files immediately when deleted" reboot and then put the tick back in again

I'm at a loss to be honest :(

Don't give up just yet though :)

WOOOOHOOOO  :jump: :jump: :D

I'm so excited !!!!!!

It's fixed YAAAAHHHHH

Here's what I did in case anyone else has the same problem...

I went to Kellys Korner and went to the Win XP A-Z section (link below)

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

I tried every one of the fixes under the Recycle Bin problems and this one finally worked NONUKEONDELETE.

I clicked on the link, saved to desktop, doubleclicked and ok, ok

Then I deleted that desktop icon, and BINGO it went straight to the recycle bin and there it was, that little folder in the bin!!

And when I open the bin it shows there too.

So thank you all for your help and patience. I really appreciate it. :flowers:
