Rebel=UK= Posted September 20, 2004 Report Share Posted September 20, 2004 now i usally go to this site to download some mixes (fully legal). i had always assumed it was a respectable site......until now this is now the 3rd mix i have got from the site with a unexpected "prezzie" namely the "Backdoor.Delf.lj" trojan. i am now going to email the site and tell them "incase" he/she is unaware of this (i doubt it), as i had scanned this mix with everything i had and it came up clean..A secret or undocumented means of getting into a computer system, or software that uses such a means to penetrate a system. Some software has a backdoor placed by the programmer to allow them to gain access to troubleshoot or change the program. Software that is classified as a "backdoor" is designed to exploit a vulnerability in a system, and open it to future access by an attacker. -pops- Posted September 21, 2004 Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 I don't see how you expect anything else but little "prezzies" with your downloads.I've just had a look at the site and it seems to me that it allows you to download copyrighted music for free, or at best, a voluntary donation via Paypal. Doubtless this is done without the permission of the copyright owner is thus not legal, despite what you may say. Anything that comes as an extra in these transfers is one of the prices you pay for this "privilege".If I am wrong in my supposition as to the way the Megamix site operates, please can you explain more fully? Rebel=UK= Posted September 21, 2004 Author Report Share Posted September 21, 2004 no no thats wrong.......the site allows you to download "samples" of the full mix. with full permission from the owners (deep Dance,studio33 etc), in the hope youll buy the full mix. most of the mixes you cant actually download you can just stream them.
