C_m_wood
Hi. We have 2 computers running win XP in a room downstairs connected to an Origo ASR 8400 modem/router. I also have one computer running win 2000 upstairs and in the next few days will have another running win XP in a different upstairs room. Both have 54mbps wireless adapters and I have bought a D-link DI524 ethernet Wireless router and plugged it into the Origo modem router. I would like to share files between all four computers as well as the internet connection. However I cannot seem to share files between the two downstairs comps say when I connect one to the Origo and one to the D-Link and the D-Link connected comp cant seem to access the internet (though the WAN light is flashing) and the comp plugged straight into the modem router can access it fine. Ive also had trouble getting the internet when wirelessly linking to the setup and then none of the comps can see the upstairs one and vice versa though it is in range. Please advise me on how to get the intenet and file sharing on all the comps. Many thanks. Chris.

spikeychris
Looking at this I see a gateway problem, without actually trying your setup I would find it difficult to advise. One way out would be to shove a 80211g adaptor in each of the client machines that are feeding off the 54meg router. The fact that the WAN light is flashing only means you have a network, not a gateway. Run netstat and post the results.
